Who we are

Innovation-led. Built to last.

Katharry Design & Build Corp. was founded on a simple belief: innovation should make construction more dependable — not more complicated. We combine proven building practices with engineering discipline, data-driven planning and accountable project management.

Our three co-founders bring more than 15+ years in construction engineering, 10+ years across commercial and residential real estate, and 10+ years in data science and AI. This experience allows us to innovate with purpose while maintaining the standards required for reliable execution.

Field engineering, analytics and international sourcing support every stage of scheduling, procurement, cost control and quality assurance — creating a more transparent, predictable building process.

Canadian craftsmanship

We built the CN Tower. Where are we now?

For a time, the CN Tower was the pinnacle of what human hands could build — and Canadians built it. Decades later, the craftsmanship that made that possible has quietly slipped out of the everyday home: thinner assemblies, faster corners, less pride in the detail. It is worth stopping to think about.

We are bringing that standard back, and taking it further. Old-world trade discipline joined with modern engineering, mathematics and data-driven management, so that every assembly is designed, sequenced and verified rather than assumed.

What we build

Two focused practices, one standard of quality

Three-storey fourplex with a rear garden suite replacing a bungalow on a City of Toronto residential lot

CMHC-Sponsored Rental Units

Our core build is the 4+1: an aging bungalow lot rebuilt as a three-storey fourplex with a detached garden suite at the rear — five self-contained rental homes, each with its own entrance. Five units is the threshold that opens CMHC MLI Select financing, and we design the affordability, accessibility and energy targets in from the first sketch.

Our commitment · the Katharry method

Old-world craftsmanship, run on modern data

Process optimization, cost control and quality supervision are not things we grow into — they are how we start. Every assembly is designed, sequenced and verified rather than assumed.

Process optimization

Every trade, delivery and inspection is sequenced in advance, so the schedule holds and your build keeps moving.

AI-optimized workflow

A data-science background drives predictive scheduling, procurement timing and trade sequencing — fewer idle days, less waste, lower carrying cost.

Cost control

Transparent budgets, disciplined procurement and change-order accountability — you always know where the money is going.

Quality supervision

Independent checks at every milestone, documented with photographic records and signed off before the next trade starts work.

Assemblies detailed beyond code

The Building Code is our minimum where it is the maximum for others — details resolved on paper before a single stud is cut.

Affordable by design

Efficiency savings go back into the build — international sourcing and disciplined planning hold a premium standard at accessible pricing.
